Frequently Asked Questions
Clear answers for busy teachers and leaders. We keep things simple, evidence-based, and focused on what improves learning in Bangladesh.
What is Evidence Based Teacher Development (EBTD)?
EBTD helps teachers and school leaders in Bangladesh turn trusted educational research into everyday classroom practice. We translate global evidence into local, usable tools so teachers can teach brilliantly, lead confidently, and improve outcomes for every learner.
Who are EBTD’s programmes for?
For everyone who shapes learning—classroom teachers, tutors, school leaders, and whole leadership teams. Whether you’re starting out, mentoring others, or guiding school improvement, our programmes adapt to your context and role.
How is EBTD different from other training providers?
Most training delivers content. EBTD builds capacity. We don’t stop at “what works”—we help teachers and leaders apply it, review the impact, and refine practice over time. Our work is long-term, evidence-driven, and rooted in Bangladesh’s real challenges: large classes, bilingual teaching, exam culture, and resource limits.
Are you the best teacher training programme in Bangladesh?
We don’t compete for titles—we collaborate for progress. Our mission isn’t to win comparisons, but to build a community of teachers and leaders across Bangladesh who use evidence to improve learning. “Best” means little if schools don’t see change. EBTD stands for shared improvement, transparent frameworks, and practical support—so every teacher, not just a few, can thrive.
Are your resources and guides free?
Yes—many of our frameworks, guides, and podcasts are free in the Research Hub. Access to evidence should not depend on budget. For deeper, sustained impact, we also offer structured training and long-term partnerships.
How can my school start working with EBTD?
Begin with a short conversation about your priorities. From single workshops to multi-year plans, we co-design the right route for your context. Visit our Contact page or explore the Training hub.
Where does the research behind EBTD come from?
We draw on international evidence (e.g., EEF, Deans for Impact, Ofsted research reviews, peer-reviewed studies) and blend it with local insights from BRAC IED, CAMPE, and universities across Bangladesh. Every framework is tested for local fit before it reaches classrooms.
How do you ensure training is relevant to Bangladeshi classrooms?
Everything is contextualised—examples, routines, and videos are drawn from real BD schools. We adapt for large class sizes, bilingual settings, and exam-driven systems, showing how evidence can work within those realities.
What kinds of training does EBTD offer?
Four pathways for lasting improvement: Teacher Training (BD) (six modules or the Integrated Award); Leadership Development (Principals, Senior Leaders, Faculty Leaders, Leaders of Behaviour); Tutor Training (Foundation, Advanced, Leader); and School Partnerships (co-designed professional development).
What impact have you seen so far?
Schools report stronger feedback cultures, more confident questioning, and improved pupil engagement. Educators describe EBTD as respectful, practical, and transformative—professional learning that makes change visible in the next lesson.
How can I stay updated with new tools and research?
Join the EBTD Newsletter for monthly research-backed summaries, classroom tools, and professional learning opportunities—no spam, just what helps.
